My intercessory prayer for YOU
Dear readers,
I’d like to pray for you.
I know I like it when people pray for me,
so today,
I’m praying an intercessory prayer for YOU,
wherever you are,
whatever you’re facing,
whoever you are.
God loves you,
and so do I.

Oh, Lord,
I thank you for these readers,
these seekers of truth and light.
Pour out your grace and compassion on them
when they stray from you
and bring them back to the safety of your arms.
Comfort them when they grieve.
Prod them toward the truth of your word
and assure them that they can trust you.
Protect their hearts and minds from the lies of this world.
Convict and forgive them of sins and habits that hurt them and don’t honor you,
and give them the humility to confess and change.
And if they won’t confess, Lord,
I confess their sins for them and ask you holy hand to guide them toward truth.
Make their hearts steadfast
and help them see the world and its many problems
from your perspective.
You are love and grace,
but you are truth and holiness.
Give them the courage to walk against culture,
against hate,
against fear,
against loneliness,
against spiritual warfare of the heart and body,
and make them strong in their faith
and bold in their witness.
Broaden their reach–
may they influence thousands for you,
for generations to come.
But especially, Lord,
I pray your Spirit and your presence over their families.
As they struggle and grow,
I pray that they look to you for wisdom and direction.
Guide them in your truth,
on your way,
toward life eternal.
In Jesus’ powerful name,
Amen.
I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (1:3-6)
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. (1:9-11)
