Ye Old Consignment Store
You hold memories a la mode.
An old jean jacket, a mini skirt,
A sequined dress, a satin shirt.
Clothes worn once as valued treasures
Hanging in hope for second-hand pleasure.
I want something that looks brand-new,
While sorting through sizes of similar hue.
There’s a 70s poly, some 80s jammers,
90s bibs, and clothes that clammer–
For eclectic style or Soho groove;
Designer labels–they all seek to prove
A shopper’s worth and fashion finesse.
At reduced cost, I dress to impress.
But what excites me more than ponies or whales
Is the label that says 40%-off Sale.
